Healthy Recipe: Avocado Protein Shake


To be honest, when we heard that avocados can be used in protein shakes, we thought it was very unappetizing. Thought of guacamole mixed up with protein powder sounded very unappealing. But after steeling ourselves, we decided to give it a go.

We made the protein shake below and were pleasantly surprised at the very pleasant texture the avocado provided this smoothie. Avocados have a very light, refreshing taste, which goes great with almond milk and the ice. Finally, they give a very cool, light green color to the smoothie, which makes it even more appetizing. It is definitely our new favorite smoothie ingredient! Here is the recipe:

What you need:

  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 scoop of natural protein powder
  • 1/2 avocado

What you do:

Put everything into the blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
