ENJOY THE FOOD YOU LOVE AND HAVE A FLAT TUMMY
Working in the fitness industry for many years now, I have helped many women lose weight and become beautiful, sexy and confident like they always wanted to be. Like they DESERVED to be. Fitness is my passion and I think that the fitter you are, the more successful you are in other fields of you life. Not to say that I don’t know how tough it is to get there. I am a competitive fitness model and I know first hand that losing weight and get lean to the point that you abs are showing is perhaps one of the most difficult goals I have ever achieved.
Preparing for a fitness competition is very challenging both, physically and mentally. Imagine 16 weeks of strict dieting, several hours at the gym a day, no alcohol, no condiments, no restaurant food (and I mean NONE, not even plain salad and chicken), no social life. When the day of the competition arrives and you step on a stage, you face a panel of judges who rank you on your physique. And I mean they judge you on every inch of your body. Crazy? Yes, it’s insane. And for the last few years it’s been my hobby.
So why in the world would anyone put themselves through such torture?
For me, its not vanity, it’s just an incredible sense of accomplishment . Not only do I put my will power to the ultimate test, I remind myself that with focus and dedication I can succeed in anything I put my mind to. And more than anything, from the first time I stepped on that stage I faced my biggest fear – I stood up in a bikini in front of thousands of people and a panel of judges and let them judge me on my body (trust me, no matter how fit you are it’s very rare you will find a woman comfortable in a bikini and I’m certainly no exception). During my first competition, my legs shook so much that I thought I was going to fall flat on my face…but I didn’t. Oh, well, I didn’t win either (I came 10th), but it was okay, I looked like I belonged on that stage. And next time I did it, I came third, and then I came second…and next time I will come first.
So what’s this got to do with you?
I’m not telling you that you need to go and do a fitness competition... its not for everyone. What I am saying is, simply step outside of your comfort zone. Set goals (as big as you want), map them out, and get to working!
It doesn’t mean its going to be easy, but you can make it fun, by simply being happy and enjoying the PROCESS of getting in the best shape of your life, no matter how long it takes. Just be excited KNOWING what’s to come and how you would feel about yourself once you have achieved your goal.
How I made it enjoyable and fun
Yes, 16 weeks of hardcore training and bland low calorie food is no fun. Therefore, last year I recruited my partner, Ivan, to do a competition with me. Since we were basically house and gym bound for 4 months, we were running out of things to do. Going to bars, night clubs and parties at friends houses was out of question, as all of the above revolved around drinking and eating.
So what did we do?
We challenged each other to make our favourite foods (pizza, bread, cupcakes, muffins) using only low-carb healthy food and ingredients that are known to burn fat.
We made 1 or 2 recipes every single day for 4 months! We had tons of fun doing this, and not to mention we got to enjoy our contest preparation eating some awesome stuff, guilt free!
Then we took all of our recipes and bundled them up in one eBook. We’ve finally finished up the editing, designing and adding all the nutritional information to finally make it available to the public.
