BURN FAT WITH WATER: THE ULTIMATE FAT BURNING LIQUID

How Drinking Water Help You Burn Fat

Our clients always ask us about the best foods that burn fat, but surprisingly, the best fat burner is actually a liquid. The good ole H2O can make the body metabolize fat at a much faster rate, while keeping you healthy and preventing injuries.

We are 70% water.

Water is one of the most important nutrients, since it represents 70% of our bodies. Drinking plenty of water will keep your system functioning at a higher level and burn more calories, instead of saving them for later (in the case of dehydration).

Water helps metabolizing fat

In order to metabolize fats efficiently, our liver needs optimal amounts of water. Drinking lots of it will make your weight loss journey more fluid.

Eliminates toxins

Just like some foods that we use in our detox plan, water is just as good at eliminating waste materials. When you drink lots of water, you show your body that there is always more of it coming, which sends a signal to your brain that it is OK to get rid of excess water. The excess water is then eliminated along with the toxins, creating a detoxifying effect. On the other hand, when water is scarce, your body will try and hold on to every last drop of it. The water is then circulated along with all the stuff that shouldn’t be in your body (aka toxins). Creating a toxic environment in your body, makes weight loss almost impossible.

Suppresses appetite

Nothing bad with having a healthy appetite. However, our bodies are terrible at determining whether we are hungry or thirsty. Studies show that consuming 1-2 glasses before a meal, can significantly reduce your overall daily caloric intake.

Lubricates joints and prevents injuries

So far we were talking about weight loss, but it is actually quite dangerous to exercise when you are dehydrated. Since water lubricates joints, the lack of it will make them more prone to injuries. On top of that, you lose a lot of liquids from your body when you are exercising, which also affects your water balance.

Things that cause you lose water

We lose water all the time; when we sweat, breathe and even when we drink liquids like alcohol or coffee. In fact, the major reason for a headache after a night of drinking is due to dehydration. Double up on your water intake if you do any of the following: exercise (any kind), drink a coffee/tea, or having a glass of wine/beer/liquor. When consuming caffeine or alcohol, aim to drink double the amount of water; for example, drink 2 glasses of water after 1 glass of wine.

How much water should you drink?

As a general guideline, drinking 8 glasses of water per day is a good start. However, keep in mind that people’s dietary needs are very subjective. Some will do fine with 8 glasses, but for some people it may not be enough. A great way to check how much water you need to drink is to judge by the color of your urine. If it is dark yellow, it means you are not drinking enough, but if it is clear or pale yellow, you are doing just fine.

Can you drink too much water?

Any deviation from the healthy balance in your body, can cause health issues. Drinking too much water is not an exception. That being said, our bodies are very efficient at eliminating excess water immediately and it is very hard to shift our water balance this way. Just don’t try to jug 15 liters of water a day and you will be fine.

It seems obvious that water is a top priority element in everyone’s diet, but most people do not follow this simple guideline and as a result, suffer from a chronic dehydration. Save yourself a headache (pun intended) and enjoy your H2O with some sliced cucumbers and lemons on a hot summer day.
